Layered // Mono

Layered e.max crowns and bridges are made of a lithium disilicate glass-ceramic material with a layered construction. The inner core is designed to provide strength and durability, while the outer layer is made of translucent porcelain that mimics the appearance of natural teeth. The layered construction allows for a customised shade and translucency to match the surrounding teeth.
Monolithic e.max crowns and bridges are made of a single block of lithium disilicate glass-ceramic material, without a porcelain layer. These e.max crowns and bridges are highly durable and contain excellent aesthetic properties. They are ideal for both posterior and anterior teeth. The monolithic construction provides great durability and resistance to chipping, making them a low-maintenance option for patients.

The lack of a layered construction restricts the level of customisation in terms of translucency and colour. In some cases they may be more suitable for posterior teeth where appearance is not critical.
